Steve Metalitz Quoted Regarding Cybersquatting and Domain Parking
July 2, 2009
Steve Metalitz was quoted widely (Computerworld, InfoWorld, The Industry Standard) regarding the rise of domain name disputes. Intellectual property owners fear the impending flood of generic top-level domains (GTLD) will result in increased cybersquatting and other trademark abuses. Metalitz, speaking as president of the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC), an ICANN-sanctioned organization that advocates on behalf of brand owners, discussed problems locating the offending registrars and enforcing penalties against them.
