Associate – Labor & Employment
We are seeking a mid-level Labor and Employment associate for our Los Angeles office. Our Labor and Employment Department consists of over 20 full time Labor and Employment attorneys. Ideal candidates have experience in any of these areas: traditional labor, wage and hour class actions and PAGA lawsuits, and employment litigation.
The successful candidates must have excellent analytical and writing skills, substantial experience handling employment litigation, including single-plaintiff and class action cases, and experience advising clients on day-to-day employment issues. Outstanding academic credentials are required.
Salary range: $232,500-$317,500. Compensation is based on experience, skill, and knowledge.

STAFF OPPORTUNITIES - LOS ANGELES
Immigration Paralegal
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C., is seeking a Paralegal to join our Immigration Department in Los Angeles.
The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Business / entertainment Immigration Paralegal, including arts and entertainment visa petitions.
- Must include significant experience preparing and processing applications for O-1 visas. Experience preparing E, H, L, O, P filings is a plus.
- Certificate of completion from an ABA approved paralegal program or a B.A. or advanced degree plus an Attorney Attestation of completion of law-related experience (Business & Professions Code Section 6450 et seq.) preferred.

Legal Secretary – Labor & Employment
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C., is seeking a Legal Secretary to join our team in Los Angeles.
The position will entail supporting approximately 3 - 4 busy Attorneys in the Firm’s Labor & Employment and Litigation practice groups. The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
- Create and edit drafts of documents such as correspondence, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, requests for production, subpoenas, deposition notices, and other legal documents.
- Prepare final versions of documents: format Microsoft Word documents, create tables of contents and tables of authorities, proofread, etc.
- Assist in preparation for depositions, court hearings, and trials.
- Manage and organize attorneys’ emails in Outlook and save them in a document management system.
- Enter attorneys’ time on a daily basis.
- Arrange meetings and travel, schedule appointments, and maintain contacts and calendars.
- Process expense reimbursements and prepare client bills.
- Handle electronic filings with state and federal courts; handle agency filings/submissions; and retrieval of electronically filed documents.
- Knowledge of court rules and filing procedures, including determining requirements for filing for in varying jurisdictions.
- Communicate by phone/email with clients, court personnel and other legal professionals.
- Prepare court filings using Adobe PDF to assemble pleadings and exhibits, including bookmarking and OCRing.
- Support other litigation assistants with filings, deposition preparation, and case management.
- Assist other departments and secretarial assistants with overflow work.
Other qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required.
- A minimum of 5 years of legal secretarial experience. Proficiency in labor & employment terminology and procedures is preferred.
- Satisfaction working both independently and collaboratively with teams of varying work styles.
- Strong work ethic with ability to produce high-quality work in a consistent and reliable manner.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced work environment, including juggling multiple projects and demands, meeting deadlines, and ensuring accuracy and quality of all work product.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in using technology to resolve work challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Performs typing and file maintenance duties.
- Prepares documents in final format, including assisting with preparing a letter, chart or deed.
- Conducts conflict checks for prospective matters, prepares client engagement agreements and conflict waivers.
- Creates and edits drafts of documents using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Answers incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner and communicates an accurate message on behalf of the caller.
- Sends/receives/manages e-mails and related attachments using Outlook.

Qualifications:

- Must be an energetic self-starter who is enthusiastic about performing and learning varied support tasks.

Marketing Assistant (or Coordinator)
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, a mid-sized law firm with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington D.C., is seeking a Marketing Assistant (or Coordinator) to complement our Marketing team in Los Angeles. Under the supervision of the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant (or Coordinator) will provide tactical support to a variety of marketing, communications and business development activities. Seeking a sharp, enthusiastic self-starter with a strong client service orientation. This is a hybrid role and is affiliated with our Century City office but also open to applicants in the PST time zone.
The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $50,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Job responsibilities include:
- Prepare customized collateral materials, including client proposals and firm brochures, for new business pitches and presentations.
- Maintain the firm’s marketing databases, utilizing them to produce targeted mailing lists.
- Layout, produce and distribute firm alerts, announcements, invitations and advertisements.
- Coordinate client programs, including managing registration; arranging facilities, catering and tech support; preparing PowerPoint presentations and handout materials; providing guest reception; and facilitating attorney follow-up.
- Assist in updating the firm website and various marketing materials, in Word and on the firm’s website.
- Assist with directory updates and attorney ranking submissions.
- Collect and archive representative matters, industry experience, speaking engagements and client lists.
- Plan, implement and execute all aspects of marketing and business development events.
- Use event management software to distribute invitations and track RSVPs.
- Video editing by transforming raw clips and video footage into high-quality finished videos and other media.
- Liase with attorneys, vendors, professional staff throughout the firm to assist in business development efforts.
- All other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree plus at least 1-2 years of marketing or business development experience in a professional services field is required; law firm experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) is required; proficiency with Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Suite, and Adobe InDesign is required; experience with digital technology and editing software (e.g. Final Cut Adobe Premiere, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CRM tools and Google Analytics is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Superior writing, proofreading and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently on projects as well as be a team player.
